Honey Bunches of Oats

Funny story…a BF from many years ago thought it was cute to call me “honey bunches”…which eventually led to “honey bunches of oats”…which was ridiculous, so he lovingly shortened it to “oats”…which he spelled “otz”.  To this day if I ever talk to him he still calls me that.  As does a good friend back home, Mel.  Hi Mel!

Sorry, random.

Well, sorta.  I was trying to create oatmeal that fit that title this morning.  I don’t know why.  Just cuz.

Into the pot: oats, UVAB, water, flax meal, cinnamon, about 1/4 chopped Piñata apple

On top: toasted almonds, honey, sploosh of cream…

I managed the Honey part and the Oats part.  Do almonds qualify as Bunches?  Close enough.

With coffee…

(it’s tough to take pics when it’s super sunny!)

Being Wednesday, I have the conference call of doom this afternoon so I made sure to remember to get lunch before getting on the call.  Last week I only had a green smoothie and just about gnawed my arm off.

Snack plate:

Light cheddar, Kashi Honey Sesame, carrots, cukes, and hummus…

With garlic stuffed olives

Yesterday’s hungry monkey tendencies followed that plate to my desk where I swear I inhaled it all in under 5 minutes.  I hate that.  Don’t even remember tasting it.

Snack planned for during call…the rest of this morning’s Piñata apple with natural PB

Tonight I’m working on some sort of Mexican lasagna/enchilada/tortilla type thingy.  Stay tuned.

Otz! That's hilarious. I had a BF who used to call me Bobo and I have no clue where it came from, no story behind it, no fun!

Yummy food pics today.

Ok to my defense...I really do try to call you by your name, however I do often end up deleting the "Otz" to re-type Jaime :)

Flashback to our long winded Gina visit, do you happen to have any bloggers that have a nut allergy? Everyone always has such yummy snacks and recipes that involve ALMONDS or PB....AGH! I've been searching and have found much lactose free, gluten free, vegan recipes etc but not many that don’t include nuts of some form or another. Dang it, I know I’m one of the only freaks allergic to carrots and avocados but I KNOW I’m NOT the only one with nut issues!!!

Miss ya
Mel :)
I'm open to people suggesting yummy and healthy alternative protein:)
